HOW COME I CAN'T ORDER SOME PRODUCTS YEAR ROUND?
Our products are chosen based on their availability from local suppliers during the season.Think of it this way...Strawberries don't grow in Manitoba in January so the berries you see in traditional grocery stores are most definitely not local. We only sell locally produced items so snow on the ground = no berries!
Product availability will change monthly and sometimes even weekly so be sure to order early and read product descriptions carefully.
Check out our blog post on the importance of eating seasonally for more info.
WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
Our farmers are located all across Manitoba and just across the borders of Saskatchewan and Ontario. Our "Meet the Farmer" page tells you all about our producers and where to find them. Be sure to check out their websites for more information about how they are using ecological and regenerative farming practices in the production of your food.
HOW DO YOU SELECT THE PRODUCTS YOU SELL?
The products for our store are selected very carefully. Suppliers must adhere to strict quality control practices and must meet the requirements for being regenerative and organic. Because of our focus on local, sustainable products that are good for you and for the environment, we do not carry any products that are highly processed or commercial. That's why you will never see big name corporate brand items in our store.
